Omitting negative results precludes thinking in reverse

In science—or at least in machine learning—we have a culture of rewarding positive results and omitting (or misinterpreting) negative results. This is a shame, because it makes it impossible to think in reverse. We lack a catalog of the myriad failed ideas our colleagues tried.
