I’m a computer science researcher and former software engineer at Google.

I’ve helped recent clients figure out how machine learning can fit into their business: understanding what it can and can’t do, designing for its limitations, analyzing the costs and benefits, and building prototypes.

While I’m a generalist software engineer, I’m most specialized to help with:

Natural language processing (NLP)

My PhD research focused on grounded language, commonsense reasoning, and LLM evaluation. I’m also passionate about teaching and communication. I can offer expertise to nearly any project using NLP.

General machine learning (ML) and artificial intelligence (AI)

I also worked in a robotics lab, and have published crossover work with computer vision. I'm broadly comfortable working on machine learning projects, from statistical methods to deep neural nets.
