2024 Backlog Burndown

I just wrote Delete Your Backlog, but I am in denial of my own advice and attempting to write everything in my essay backlog.

I made this whole progress bar⁰¹ and then realized I don’t actually have an accurate count, because I don’t have Apple Notes drafts for stuff like travel posts, drafts already here in the Garage, or drafts living unpublished in my website’s files.

I may make a list I can track, likely either in Apple Notes or GitHub issues. I think seeing a number and tracking progress could be motivating. But right now I just need to get some small momentum by knocking out some tiny ones and I don’t want to burn all the effort on making a comprehensive list.⁰² I think this is one of those “need to produce motor effects” moments.

1. Well, I ported it over from my last big backlog push in sumer 2021. Those progress bars are actually kind of awesome because they pull from the GitHub API and live track my Issue progress. ↩︎
