Analysis: Rive SpaceShip HUD FUI

Process observation: explicit base material screenshot in project! I appreciate they were honest and left it there. Comes from a FUI reel of an artist I’ve seen before:

While it’s heavily inspired, there are clearly deviations and adapted elements.

Observations:

• the flickering effect layers two effects:

  1. flicker — linear tweens, 0/1/0 @2frames, 0/1/0 @3frames, 0/1 @10 frames
     • exact numbers don’t matter; some use more repetitions and longer frames
  2. path tracing — BG motion
     • tweening ‘start’ along vector path
     • adding an offset trace as well looks nice
     • I could see an additional BG bloom trace following looking nice

• they use tags for organization. a premium feature, like audio.
